Complete guide to setting up FalconX in your Discord server

Invite FalconX to Your Server

First, you need to add FalconX to your Discord server:

  1. Click the Invite Bot button
  2. Log in to Discord if prompted
  3. Select the server from the dropdown (you need "Manage Server" permission)
  4. Review the requested permissions
  5. Click "Authorize"
  6. Complete the captcha verification

💡 Tip: Make sure you have "Manage Server" permission in the server you want to add the bot to.

Configure Bot Permissions

After adding FalconX, set up its permissions properly:

  1. Go to Server Settings → Roles
  2. Find "FalconX" in the roles list
  3. Drag it above roles that it needs to manage
  4. Enable required permissions for your use case

Recommended Permissions:

  • Manage Roles - For role assignment commands
  • Kick Members - For /kick command
  • Ban Members - For /ban command
  • Manage Messages - For /clear and moderation
  • Read/Send Messages - Basic functionality
  • Embed Links - For rich embeds
  • Attach Files - For images and QR codes
  • Use External Emojis - For better messages

⚠️ Important: The bot can only manage roles that are BELOW its highest role in the hierarchy!

Test Basic Commands

Verify the bot is working correctly:

  1. Go to any channel where the bot has access
  2. Type / to see available commands
  3. Try /ping to check bot responsiveness
  4. Use /help to see all available commands

💡 Tip: If slash commands don't appear, wait a few minutes and refresh Discord (Ctrl+R or Cmd+R).

Set Up Welcome Messages (Optional)

Configure custom messages for new members:

  1. Use /setjoinmessage to set a welcome message
  2. Choose a channel for welcome messages
  3. Customize the message text
  4. Use /setleavemessage for goodbye messages

Message Variables:

  • {user} - Mentions the user
  • {username} - User's name
  • {server} - Server name
  • {membercount} - Total members

Example:

/setjoinmessage channel: #welcome message: Welcome {user} to {server}! You are member #{membercount}!

Configure Logging (Optional)

Enable server logging to track events:

  1. Create a dedicated log channel (e.g., #bot-logs)
  2. Use /logs setup channel: #bot-logs
  3. Choose which events to log

Logged Events:

  • Member joins and leaves
  • Kicks and bans
  • Message deletions
  • Role changes
  • Server updates

Set Up Command Permissions

Control who can use specific commands:

Method 1: Using FalconX Permissions

/permissions add role @Moderator command: ban

This allows the Moderator role to use the ban command.

Method 2: Using Discord's Built-in Permissions

  1. Go to Server Settings → Integrations
  2. Click on FalconX
  3. Manage command permissions per role/channel

💡 Tip: Use Discord's method for more granular control over specific channels and roles.

Configure Boost Alerts (Optional)

Celebrate server boosters:

  1. Choose a channel for boost announcements
  2. Use /setboostalert channel: #announcements
  3. Optionally customize the boost message

The bot will automatically announce when someone boosts your server!

Set Up Role Management

Configure self-assignable roles and role management:

  1. Use /managerole to configure role settings
  2. Set up requestable roles with /requestrole
  3. Create colored roles with /color

Temporary Roles:

Give roles for a limited time:

/temprole user: @User role: @TempRole duration: 1h

Multiple Roles:

Assign several roles at once:

/multirole user: @User action: add roles: @Role1 @Role2 @Role3

Enable Invite Tracking (Optional)

Track who invites new members:

  1. The bot automatically tracks invites once added
  2. Use /invitetrack to see invite statistics
  3. Use /invitetracker user: @User for specific user stats

💡 Tip: Invite tracking only works for invites created after the bot joins.
